Hey guys so where we going this week? I reckon if walking, we should try some 10K plus walks (they're called full day walks but we've been knocking 5-8 or more K's over in a few hours. What ya's think?

Also if we're kayaking/canoeing as Scott put forward on Sunday need to firm up some deets.

Yeah agreed, but we will keep the Kayaking/Canoeing for another weekend because April cant make it and she really wants to do it lol.. bless! Smile

Anyway 10k walks sound good to me, that will be fine, its about time we added a few Ks on to make it a bit more of a challenge.. recently Carly and I have been finding it a little easy.

So 10K+ walks it is then, is everyone on board with that? If this is the case though, we will have to go earlier to places...

Idea: I wouldn't mind - http://www.queenslandholidays.com.au/things-to-see-and-do/natural-bridge-springbrook-national-park/index.cfm

I also dont mind another beach walk...? I would really like to do one of the beaches like Caberita, Kingscliff something like that... That would have to be top of my list.. I will buy reef/surf shoes this time though. Blisters last time were HUGE!

Cool, BTW, the natural bridge section is quite short, maybe a k I believe. But more walks in the area, if we did that sometime, may need to pair it up with another of the walks.

in the same area:
Warrie circuit (Class 4( http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/parks/springbrook/about.html#Class_4 ))
DANGER: Sheer cliffs and waterfalls. One slip could be fatal—serious injury or death may result from walking near the edge. Keep to the track. Supervise children closely.

Distance: 17 km return

Time: Allow about 5 to 6 hrs walking time

Caution: Creek crossings may be impassable after heavy rain. Allow enough time to finish the walk in daylight hours.

Details: Start at Canyon lookout or Tallanbana picnic area. The longest and most interesting track on the plateau follows the base of The Canyon cliffs to Goomoolahra Falls before descending into the mossy green depths of the rainforest. The track (named with the Aboriginal word 'Warrie', meaning 'rushing water') crosses several creeks and gullies. The track reaches the 'Meeting of the Waters', where all watercourses draining The Canyon meet, then climbs up the western side of the gorge. The moist and shady conditions at the base of Goomoolahra Falls provide an ideal habitat for the giant spear lilies Doryanthes palmeri. This succulent herb is one of only two members of the Doryanthiacea plant family, which is endemic to Australia.
